Trump appeared to ignore the question and starting walking away but Netanyahu chose to answer it.

In January, Mr. Netanyahu described the media as "left-wing" and "Bolshevik" and said they were out to bring him down.

President Trump arrived in Israel Monday, continuing his visit to the Middle East.

Afterwards, he is expected to become the first sitting U.S. president to visit the Western Wall, the holiest site where Jews can pray and located in east Jerusalem.

A Palestinian man was killed after an attempted stabbing at a checkpoint just outside Jerusalem shortly after Trump had entered the Old City, according to Israeli police. But in preparations for the visit, a junior USA official commented to Israelis that the site is "not your territory". He then tucked a prayer note into a deep crevice.

The Western Wall is one of the holiest sites the Jews are allowed to pray in.

Nineteen people were killed and more than 50 injured after a terrorist bomb ripped through a pop concert in the English city. "Together we can roll back Iran's march of aggression and terror in the region".

At Rivlin's residence, Trump lashed out at Iran.

While Mr Trump has said previously that finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is "maybe not as hard as people have thought", few expect a breakthrough with this visit.

"I don't know what the policy of the administration is, but I believe the Western Wall is part of Israel and I think that that is how, you know, we've always seen it and that's how we should pursue it", she told the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Even Trump showed some restraint when discussing the potential for peace, "I've heard it's one of the toughest deals of all". "To the extent the Israelis have any questions, or clarification, I'm sure we're happy to provide that". He is also scheduled to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

President Donald Trump on Monday defended himself against allegations he divulged classified information in a recent meeting with Russian diplomats, saying alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he never identified Israel in his Oval Office conversation.

Trump advocated during his campaign breaking with decades of precedent and moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, deeply alarming Palestinians.

The White House has put "Jerusalem, Israel", on its website.

Most foreign nations' embassies in Israel, including the United States' since 1966, are in Tel Aviv.

"There are many things that can happen now that could never have happened before", Trump said.

Trump has sent mixed signals about how he will approach the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Israel has also expressed concern about the $110 billion arms sale to Saudi Arabia that Trump announced Saturday in Riyadh.
