Coachella Valley bride-to-be Brittney Calhoun got a call Thursday afternoon from Alfred Angelo saying the bridal shop chain is closing its doors.

"This is supposed to be a non-stressful time for a bride". Adding, "the dress is handsome, we waited 3 months for it".

Employees at Alfred Angelo's Tulsa, Oklahoma location actually opened on their own on Friday to help people get their dresses, NPR reports. Her wedding is a week from Saturday.

"It's just been kind of a nightmare", Fugate said. She said she immediately rushed to the location that was holding her dress only to be told the dreaded news - she might not get her dress, or a refund.

On Saturday morning, as Bailey measured a toddler for a tuxedo for his mother's wedding, one of her employees relayed a phone message from an affected customer.

According to a statement on Alfred Angelo Bridal website, the company filed for bankruptcy on July 14th.

"Oh my gosh I need to drive to Tampa right now and I'm not leaving without my dress". But now, four of her eight bridesmaids are left without their dresses. "I'm even rushing them in and paying this out of my ownpocket, but I am determined to make sure we will get through this hump with our customer. This is somebody's future". Taylor says she's been selling Alfred Angelo gowns for more than 20 years.
